Tests in Schmiedeberg

May 12th and 13th 2014

When the Ludwigshafen Fire Department first heard of our fire protection foil they were immediately reminded of the terrible incident in February 2008: https://www.google.de/#q=ludwigshafen+2008+fasching+brand

This catastrophe was so terrible because the fire was able to spread throughout the entire building through the wooden staircase and the ceiling construction. The Ludwigshafen Fire Deparment wanted to test whether akuSta-Plast FIRE STOP could have prevented or at least reduced the consequences of this fire.

Everyone present during the tests was extremely impressed by the results.

The test was filmed by the fire fighters present at the time - the camera operation is not professional.

Also, the fire barrier was not applied by craftsmen. The protection could have been even better - but the results are quite impressive for a first try.

Bottom line is that the staircase was protected well enough that it could still be walked on even after all of the accelerant had burned off. Even a concrete staircase would have been unsafe after such a fire...

Documentation of Tests

July 29th, 2013

akuSta-Plast FIRE STOP is a new type of non-flammable fire protection foil. Some of the main properties are:

  • Excellent heat insulation.
  • Low production cost.
  • Easy to use.
  • In case of fire no toxic substances are released.
  • Excellent acoustic properties (same noise insulation as heavy layers)

The foil can be cut (e.g. with a knife or box cutter). It can simply be glued to objects to be protected. Therefore it is possible to add fire protection at any time. The foil can be painted or produced with any type of design.
